The most frequent question we get is also the one we simply can't answer (and can't answer simply), until we do quite a bit of work to determine what your particular needs are.

In fact, every project is different and requires different skills, resources and time to complete. Before we get to the numbers though, consider that the following variables can greatly affect cost:

  • number of design concepts;
  • number of revisions;
  • templates required;
  • amount of consulting required;
  • extent of graphic and multimedia design;
  • the number and complexity of custom functions;
  • project schedule;
  • content delivery.

Also, we no longer build 'simple' websites using only basic HTML pages - the efficiency and convenience of modern database-driven, content managed sites is just too compellng. Almost all of our clients demand or expect these capabilities anyway, so all of our sites provide:

  • online editing or full-blown content management, allowing you (or us) to efficiently maintain your website with spot updates or additional capabilities;
  • optimization for search enginge marketing, enabling your site to be easily found and indexed by the major search engines;
  • training in the use and maintenance of your site;
  • an extensive site manual with a copy of your site already backed up on CD;
  • ongoing support.

Rough Cost Examples

Even so, we want to give you some kind of ballpark for a price, so with the above factors in mind, here's a rough idea of what a quality website will cost:

  • personal site, small professional site or blog - costs range from $2,000 to $4,500
  • small business site - costs range from $2,500 to $10,000+ (most are $3,500 - $5,500)
  • ecommerce site - costs range from $5,500 to $15,000+ (most are $5,500-$7,000)
  • portal site or corporate intranet - costs range from $4,000 to $10,000+ (most are $4,000 - $8,500)
  • vertical market sites (real estate brokerage, car dealership, etc.) - costs range from $3,500 to 15,000+ (most are $5000-$9000)

Of course we'd love to give you a more accurate quote based on your particular project - you can get the process started by downloading our site planner. Most of our clients prefer to work on a per-project basis, with a full price for service determined up front. We'll set up a meeting to plan your site and furnish a written estimate for services, before starting work. Contact us and we'll walk you through the whole process.

Terms & Other Rates

For all projects, we progress bill, and require one third of the total project estimate up front to begin work; one third paid on design approval; and one third due at the completion of site testing. All payments are net 15 days. We accept payment in cash, personal or corporate check.

For small jobs such as page revision, spot maintenance, individual graphic design or consulting, our hourly rate is $75 with a 1 hour minimum. We offer ongoing maintenance contracts at discounted rates.
